Job Search Resources to Learn about Companies

I am constantly learning about new resources and products that can help to give us new information and elevate our lives. While on my job search, I have learned about so many resources where you network and connect with others to learn about companies and the career opportunities available. When I say social media is a powerful tool it really is because these two resources I share I learned about on Instagram Reels.

1. RepVue

Repvue is a website that is a spectacular resource for those currently working or interested in B2B sales positions. This website helps you get the inside scoop about companies to understand if it is a good fit or how your company compares to others. You get accurate compensation ranges that are provided by employees that currently occupy sales roles within these companies. Employees also are able to give the honest feedback and rating on topics such as:

  • Base Salary
  • Incentives
  • Professional Development
  • Culture
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Product Fit

You can also ask questions about particular companies and community members will answer them for you.

Another benefit of this website is that you can tailor interview questions you have for the employer based on the information shared on the website to get clarification on things you found interesting.

For instance, if a company has a low diversity and inclusion score, you can ask “How does your company champion diversity?”, “Can you give me the makeup of your leadership team?”, “Do you have ERG groups and how active are they?”.

This is definitely a tool to use in your job search to figure out what companies you are interested in before you start applying. It can help you be more intentional about applying to companies that you will actually like working at and determining if they have the benefits you would like.

2. Fishbowl

Fishbowl is an app for professionals to ask questions and start conversations regarding work-life anonymously. You can ask anything. It is meant to be a safe space to get advice and support from individuals in similar positions or who have experience.

I used the app to get learn about people’s experiences working at the companies that I was interviewing with. Also, to learn about compensation and the ability to negotiate salary. I got a lot of good feedback and there are so many people willing to help.

3. LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an amazing resource. Hands down! I have learned about so many opportunities and been able to connect with a decent amount of people on the platform.

I like the platform to network with others. My networking has been most successful when I connect with individuals that are alumni of my University. They are so nice and willing to answer any questions that you have. I have been able to schedule 15 mins calls to learn about their role and tips to be successful if granted an interview.

Book Review: The Four Agreements

The Four Agreements book sitting on the table

Recently, I read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book was recommended to me by a several people including my mom, cousin, and a stranger who was hosting a book club.

I have had this book for a while and I finally sat down to read it.
