One of my favorite things that I have come to enjoy is the free fitness classes that are available in Dallas. Every weekend there is a class to take. I have found this to be a great way to get out of the house, hang out with friends, meet new people, and participate in group-led exercise classes.
I do want to preface by saying I am not someone who exercises on a regular basis besides Pilates. The reason I say this is because these classes are for any skill level. You may find that some of them can be more beginner friendly than others. I will say try everything to see what you like and what you don’t like. The classes can range from yoga, pilates, cardio, kick-boxing, etc. I never really thought I enjoyed cardio but I took this jazzercise class and it was exactly what I needed.
Let’s dive into all the places that offer free exercise classes:
1. Klyde Warren Park
Ya’ll, I just discovered that Klyde Warren Park also has free fitness classes during the week and weekend. So amazing. It allows you a lot more opportunities to get your body moving. They have a cost of classes from boxing, yoga, Pilates, Barre, and more. You can find anything to do.
2.Fabletics Plano
Almost every Saturday and Sunday Fabletics Legacy West offers some type of fitness class with a local gym or fitness company. The classes rotate each time but it’s the same companies in rotation. The Saturday classes typically have less people than Sunday because that class is earlier in the morning. I remember going sometimes and it would be just me, my friend, and maybe two other people. If you feel more comfortable with more people, Sunday is for you, and those classes start later in the morning.
Typically, after the classes, they also offer a discount to purchase Fabletics items. The discount does vary every time. If you want to stay up to date on the classes, they have a Facebook group that you can join and they send updates about their events.
3. Crisp & Green
Crisp & Green is a restaurant that serves delicious health-conscious food. They have two locations in the Dallas area that host fitness classes occasionally: Preston and Lakewood location. They don’t host events every weekend, but definitely a few times out of the month.
A lot of the classes I have attended with them are yoga classes by Black Swan Yoga. These classes are not necessarily my favorite because the instructor does not do the moves with you. I think the Black Swan Yoga classes do serve all levels, but I think it is beneficial to know some yoga so that you don’t have to look around at other people every 20 seconds.
I have seen other classes offered like Camp Gladiator. The best way to stay up to date with them is on their website or on Eventbrite.
4. Fabletics Southlake
I have never attended fitness classes at this location. However, I assume that they are pretty similar to the fitness activities in Legacy West. The one thing I noticed about this location is that they do not have fitness classes as often. If you live closer to the Southlake area, this will be a great location to check out.
