Miami Travel Budget for My 25th birthday

This year, I am traveling to Miami for my 25th birthday. I am excited! This will be my first time traveling to Miami and I am ready to partayyy!!!

In typical me fashion I have created a budget for my trip. I don’t want to have to worry if I am spending too much money because I am saving for it ahead of time this allows me to focus on the fun and excitement. I am going on this trip with 3 other girls so a lot of the accommodations are being split 4 ways so that helps to keep those costs down.

How I Create My Travel Budget?

To create my travel budget, I referred to my previous post about creating a realistic travel budget. This travel budget includes any and all fees that I may encounter while traveling domestically. I came up with this after one of my trips because I realized I had not accounted for a lot of costs and I spent more than I anticipated. I want to avoid that.

That’s why creating a budget is the best plan.

There is so many cost that we forget when traveling. I typically forget about the cost of preparing for travel such as hair, nails, clothes, and transportation to and from the airport (when did Uber/Lyft get so expensive?). These costs all add up and before you know it you spend wayyyy more than you anticipated.

Brainstorming my Miami Budget

When creating my Miami budget, I cycled through multiple drafts before I got to more realistic numbers. This required getting feedback from friends because sometimes I do the most and need some help to bring me back to earth. Can you believe in my original budget I was willing to pay $300 to get box braids? Yeah, I need help.

It was scary writing down all the numbers because it really shows how much money it cost to do everything you want. Then you have to have honest conversations if you are really willing to pay that much. If not, what can you cut out?

Despite the tough questions, I love the clarity it gives. I am going to spend money on the trip no matter what. Either I can prepare for it now or wait for the price tag to hit me later. I rather handle it now because I don’t need or want the scary credit card bill later.

I outlined my budget and the expenses that I am taking into account for my trip below.

You can use this budget if you like. I have attached the download below.

I have also added an editable travel budget template so you can make whatever changes you need.
