We all know that shopping is expensive, right? However, I am learning that it does not have to be. With the right resources you can save money (i.e. keep all your money in your bank account). This year I am focusing on improving my wardrobe and exploring new shopping options which you can follow here. It has been difficult because the cost adds up quick. As a college student I can’t afford it. I mean it’s called a college budget for a reason.
Thanks to my mom who is a serial couponer, I have adopted some of her ways. I have done some research to figure out how to save money and time on my new-found obsession of shopping. The tips I have found are legit lifesavers and are perfect for online shoppers.
Money Savings Tip #1: Shoptagr
Shoptagr is a multi-feature website that assist shoppers with managing purchases and saving money. There wonderful features allow you:
-
The ability to save items in one place from over 1100 retailers (i.e. Forever 21, Amazon…)
Instead of saving multiple wish list across different websites you can use the Shoptagr site and save everything in one place. To do this go to the Shoptagr website, create an account, and then download the plug-in to Google Chrome. Once you have the plug-in, you won’t have to give it a second thought. When you see an item you want, just click the Shoptagr button and your item will save. You can save items from many popular retailers such as Forever 21, ASOS, Nordstrom, etc. to your Shoptagr account. With the amount of retailers supported you will definitely get a lot of use from the website.
This feature gives you the chance to check everything you “think “you want to buy and make a final decision on what you will purchase.
-
Notifying people when their saved items go on sale, when items are low in stock, and when they come back in stock
The thing that sold me with the Shoptagr is that it saves time. Instead of having to constantly check to see when an item has gone on sale the Shoptagr app does it for you. Once you save an item, the Shoptagr website will monitor price changes and notify you of them. When you save an item, you can personalize when you would like to be notified of a sale. So you can dictate if you want to be notified of any price change, when there is a 25% off, or 50% off. It is up to you.
In addition, the website will notify you when an item is low in stock or has come back in stock.
Money Savings Tip #2: Ebates
Ebates is a cash back site!!!! This site will give you cash back on purchases you make through their site. All you have to do is create an account, click on the retailer in which you will be shopping and continue on with your normal shopping routine. For example, when I use Ebates I will log into my account, click the link to Forever 21 and start looking for the items I want. There is know extra work needed after clicking on the link. Every retailer will have different amounts of cash back that you can receive. This site will by no means make you rich but it helps you to get a little coin back in your pocket.
I would suggest downloading the plugin for Ebates as well because it will automatically tell you if a website qualifies for cash back. This is important because you may not always remember to go to the Ebates website so this eliminates a step. I know I have missed out on so many cash back opportunities because I would just forget.
P.S. If you want to help your girl out by using my referral link, I would really appreciate it. As a new member you will automatically receive $10. And if you don’t that’s not a problem either. Just make sure that you make an account and I will be proud.
Money Savings Tip #3: Unidays
Unidays is a website that provides discounts for college students. If you have not heard about them, let me say, go hop over there now. Check out the sites they offer discounts to, and if you shop at any of them create an account ASAP. All the site requires is that you have a college student e-mail account.I think this is a website that flies under the radar but it can save a lot of extra cash. However, they do not have a plug-in so you will have to remember to go on there to check it out or just add it to your bookmark bar so you see it every time you are on your computer.
Money Savings Tip #4: Cash Back credit card
There are many reward credit cards out there. If you use your credit card properly you can make money from it too. I am in love with my rewards credit card because it gives me cash back on all items that I buy. This has come in handy because it adds on to the cash back that I get back from E-bates. My credit card gives 1% cash back when I shop online. There might be better options out there just do a little of research to see if you have the best credit card for your lifestyle.
I hope that these tips help. If you know any more, share them in the comments.
Remember, Sales + Ebates Cash Back + Unidays discount + Cash Back Credit Card = BALLEERR $$$$
