Yesterday, my friend and I graced Sephora with our presence and our money lol. We started the day with brunch at Press Waffle Co. in Legacy Hall. The food was delicious. I got the Southern Belle Waffle which I 10/10 recommend.
Then, we took a detour to Sephora to get some products.
Now that spring and summertime are approaching, I am committing myself to get out of the house more and enjoy the vibes. I am so happy that the vaccines are out. Once I get vaccinated, I will feel more comfortable going out. It is crazy to think that we have been stuck in the house for a year. I hear the roof-top bars calling me all spring and summer long.
This season I want to spend more energy up-leveling my look, so I purchased some makeup and skin-care products to enhance my look. I have always admired women who can effortlessly slay their makeup. One day, I am going to get to that level, so I am going to start now.
1. Sephora Collection Best Skin Ever Foundation,$20
I went into Sephora expecting to buy a Fenty foundation, but then came across the Sephora foundation. When I say this foundation melted into my skin, it melted. It directly matched my skin tone and you could not even tell that I had make-up on. Then when I saw the price point, I was sold!
As a beginner to make-up, I think this will be a great starter foundation because it is cost-conscious and it does not require any additional work to blend with my skin complexion. It has light-medium coverage so it hides my dark spots decently not completely.
Once I feel comfortable with this foundation, I may upgrade to a fuller coverage foundation because my main goal is to cover my dark spots. However, it is about to get hot outside, so now may not be a good time to cake my face full of make-up.
2. Sephora Makeup Match Foundation Brush, $16
I needed a brush to apply my foundation, so I bought this one. I have used this brush and it appears to get the job done. I don’t really have any other brush to compare it to, but it was a pretty smooth application.
Have you all noticed a difference in how foundation brushes apply your make up?
3. Laura Mercier Mini Translucent Loose Setting Powder, $23
This setting powder was recommended to me by a sales associate to help set my foundation so that it will last longer. It will be getting hotter soon. I do not want to have my foundation sweating off my skin. I haven’t used this set, so I will give an update later on about this product. I have to find a brush or pad to apply the powder with.
4. The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream; $9
Recently, I realized I have dark under eyes which makes me look tired and my skin look dull. I came across this brand called The Inkey List and they had this Brighten-I Eye Cream that would brighten the appearance of dark under eyes. To my dismay it was out of stock so I decided to pick up the caffeine eye cream. This eye cream also assists with dark circles and puffiness.
I am going to take the time to see how this product works by itself. Then I may try the combination of this one and the Brighten-I Eye Cream because it is recommended that both items can be used in conjunction with each other. The amazing thing about this brand is that they are clean beauty.
