Tips to Save Your College Semester Grades Before Its Too Late

Hey ya’ll. I am back at it again and in a totally better place. I have actually started to get back in the hang of things. Now I have scheduled morning/night routines, developed a schedule of all of my important commitments, and even created my study schedule.  Now, that I have the basics out of the way I feel like I can breathe. If you know anything about the beginning of my senior year, then you know I have been struggling (and if you didn’t, you can read about it here ).I has been really hard to get back on track but I think I have successfully done so.

As we approach the midpoint in the semester, some of you guys could be in the same shoes as me. Rather than leaving you hanging, I have complied the tips that really helped me. I hope they do the same for you.

Syllabi

The key to the streets, I mean college, is to follow your syllabi. So, the first thing you need to do is make sure that you have all of your syllabi printed. We are going to work really hard to make sure that you get the best grade possible and we have to start by determining how many assignments you have left.  Highlight all of your remaining assignments for each class.

Grade Calculator

Now, that we have to determined what assignments you have left we have to figure out what grade you need to get on them. This will depend on your overall desired grade for the class. For example, If you want an A, then you have to figure out what grades you need to receive in order to reach that. Here is a grade calculator that I use. It allows you to enter all the grades you have already received as well as the grades you anticipate receiving on the remainder of your assignments. You can manipulate the data until you are able to determine the grade you will need on each assignment in order to get a good overall class grade.

Study Schedule

From the information gathered on what you need to receive on each assignment, determine how much studying you will need to do. Be real with yourself about how much time you need. It would suck to not reach your goals and end up getting a  grade you did not want.

After that write down, a study schedule that you can actually live with while also taking into account your other commitments such as attending class, work, student organizations, and fun.

Commitments

If you have too many things going on and it becomes difficult to live up to your study schedule, it might be best to re-evaluate where you spend your time. You might have to eliminate certain things to make sure you get the grade. Academics first. An example would be spending less time in student organization meetings or going every other week. Cut back whatever you need to in order to get that desired grade.

Talk to professors

If you are struggling in a class, go talk to your professor. They can help you with topics of difficulty as well as provide you with extra worksheets and resources. Sometimes building a relationship with a professor can be the difference between a C and B. Just make sure that you are proactive. Do not walk up to your professor the last two weeks of the semester talking about your struggles. At that point, it might be too late.

That wraps it up ladies.

Are there any tips that I forgot to mention that help you to get back on track?  I want to hear about it.
